由于大学英语四级考试题型发生了变化，听力部分分值比重加大，故考生们在备考过程中应更为重视听力题目的训练。根据新英语四级听力的种种特点，我总结了一些特点和规律以帮助学生最大限度地发挥自己已有的英语知识潜能，从而有针对性地解决问题并取得理想成绩。在《新西部》杂志2012年下旬刊上，笔者曾发表了一篇关于英语四级听力考试中地点与场景题的解题技巧及应对策略的论文。在此，我将针对英语四级听力考试中所涉及的职业和身份题的解题技巧及应对策略再作一具体介绍。
职业与身份题是四级听力常考题型，它在本质上与地点题相似，都要凭借一些表示“身份职业”的教育期刊网 http://www.jyqkw.com
关键词 来判断说话人的身份职业。由于对话是在两人之间进行的，所以听清问题所指非常重要，否则会出现张冠李戴的错误。

关键词 外，对话人的语气也能表示他们的身份和关系。例如，Hi常常是熟人见面时使用的，而How do you do ?则发生在陌生人之间等。
与地点题类似，两个人的对话中提到了某个信息，暗示出其中一人的职业或身份，听题者要及时判断语境相关词并大胆进行推测。

M: Are there any more questions on this lecture? Yes, Mary.
W: Dr. Baker, do you think an independent candidate could become president?
Q: What most probably is Mary?
A. A studentB. A reporterC. A visitorD. A lecturer
解析：选A。对话内容似乎可以在两种语境下发生：大学课堂或是记者招待会。只要判断出相对比较熟悉的相关词question-lecture-Dr.就可以得出结论，Mary是在讲座上提问，他的身份是学生。
听力成绩的提高需要大量的练习，同时也需要掌握一定的技巧和策略。没有基础知识只谈技巧，就会变得空洞没有任何意义，但是有了基础知识但却没有技巧也是很难提高成绩的。所以只有将两者有效地结合起来，才能够提高英语四级听力成绩。
