多媒体技术已经向网络化、便携化、多样化的方向发展,如果能将现在的多媒体技术有效的整合到英语的听说训练习中,就能够发挥多媒体技术平台的作用,让学生受到更好的听说锻炼,形成语用优势。
一、多媒体技术介入发音训练,提升学生的听说水平
高中生在学习英语时,由于种种原因可能会出现发音不标准的现象,有些高中生读英语句子的时候,部分单词的发音不够标准,读英语句子的流畅度不够。过去学生学习英语常常会用录音机、随声听等播放英语录音带,自己跟读来模仿播音员的标准读法,学生在跟读时,有时还是不了解自己哪里错了,应该怎样读。以往的科学技术未能使错误英语发音即时纠正。随着科学技术的发展,多媒体把卡拉OK技术、语音识别技术等结合在一起,学生使用多媒体,完成即时发音纠错练习。
比如高中教师在引导学生学习Entertainment一课时,教师引导学生使用PC机打开多媒体课件,播放一句,学生跟读一句,如果学生的发音很标准,字慕会成蓝色,如果有某一个发音不够标准,字幕会呈绿色,与录音机等跟读软件工具相比,学生能即时了解自己哪个单词念错了,他们可以重新播放录音者的发音语句,重新跟读,直到用正确的方法发音。学生如果拥有一口标准、流畅的英语,会给未来听说水平训练打下良好的基础。
二、多媒体技术介入情境建构,提高学生的交际水平
英语交际法让学生通过不断地谈论各种话题,在交际中学生能反思自己的词汇知识、语法知识、句型使用知识是否牢固。这是引导学生进行听说训练的好方法,如果教师能引导学生进入情境,带入某个角色情境中,他们会更加愿意自主交际。然而在实际教学中,学生往往觉得自己进入不了情境。结合多媒体技术,能营造出一个更好的语言环境,学生会更加愿意进入交际角色。
比如教师在引导学生学习Body language时,教师引导学生扮演供货商和某一个员工,具体的内容由学生自行发挥,此时教师使用多媒体技术,优美的英语声响起,音乐中有工厂的宣传广播,在轰隆隆的机器声,多媒体中还有其它“同事”交谈的声音。音效使学生进入角色扮演的情境,他们的交际对话如下:
A:It is Ok to make the valve without your brand?
B:Case by case.If your order qty is OK for us.
A:Oh..I see.I ask for my partner about the qty now.Please wait a moment.
B:At your random.
A:We want to make 150 units valves without any brand name.Could you do it for me?
B:Only 180 units?Could you increase it to 200 units?
A:NO.This is the first time we get into the field which we never start.200 units is also a risk for us.
B:I understand.Could you describe your marketing plan for the new field?
A:You want to know the re-order in future?I will show you our strategic PPT later.But firstly I would to visit your workshop.
B:OH.I will show the factory for you.This is my factory’s profile PPT.
They come to visit the factory and come back to the meeting room for next topic.
A:How about the 150 units valves samples without any brand name?
B:I just ask my boss,and he is glad to make it for you,but we ask a higher 5% price for the samples.
A:Why?
B:Because we should delete the existing brand of the stock by grinding machine at our side by labors.
A:OK.We accept it.Please make it for me from tomorrow.Will give the charge once getting your samples.
学生因为身心均进入情境,他们交谈的内容真实且充实,教师的教学方法能达到很好的听说训练效果。
三、多媒体技术介入兴趣激发,提高学生的语感水平
教师在引导学生学习英语时,如果学生能够培养英语语感,他们就能够运用语言直觉,直接与人交谈,英语听说训练中,语感水平的锻炼是非常重要的环节。教师要引导学生愿意自主的交流,学生通过技术反映自己的兴趣爱好,成就感会让学生产生英语交流的兴趣。
目前的多媒体技术已经不限于声光效果,它还与网络技术相结合,学生能在网页上、微博上、QQ上随时找到自己喜欢的话题,这些话题都可以变为英语交流的话题。比如教师引导学生学习Food for thought一课时,让学生做英语听说训练,两名学生的对话如下:
Jane:Wow,Lisa,you changed your old computer to a new one!Is this the latest Apple Macbook Pro?How much of it?
Lisa:Yes,I cannot bear my old laptop computer any more: you cannot imagine how low it is,it spend nearly two minutes to start and enter the system! This one is not the pro,but the Macbook Air. It cost me 988 Euro,two times more than the old one. But I do not think it is expensive,this laptop offer good value for money.
Jane: Yeah…it looks cool,I love this silver kind. The design of Apple’s products always so elegant that they looks so attractive. Oh,speaking of which,I bought an Iphone 5 the day before yesterday,look,also a silver one. Some people say that the black Iphone 5 has the best appearance,but in my opinion,the white design never go out of style. Do you have any Iphone or Ipad?
Lisa: Yes,of course!I am the fan of Apple since three years ago. I love Iphone and I use the Iphone 5S as my cell phone now,a golden one. It is a high end smartphone developed on the basis of Iphone 5,although it has a very similar design with the prior version. In fact,it disappointed me. I thought it would be a significant improvement like the advertisement said,but I do not think it has much difference between Iphone5 except the price.
Jane: Oh,it do has something special. It improve the camera,add the Touch ID who can recognize you by your fingerprint…
Lisa: And it also add a metallic ring surrounding the home button which has been removed the square icon!How useless!Jane,I want to see something really interesting but not these boring detail-improving!
这两名学生结合自己的生活与兴趣爱好进行交流,谈到了苹果品牌的优势和目前的不思进取,谈到自己身为苹果粉一直在追逐这个品牌等,因为有共同的兴趣爱好,他们会愿意深入的交流这个话题。学生发现对方和自己有共同的语言和兴趣爱好时,他们会愿意持续性沟通,在交流中,他们只感觉到快乐,而忘记英语听说训练的学习与心理障碍。
多媒体技术是一种结合声光效果、网络技术的复合技术,它具有强大的功能。高中英语教师如果能针对多媒体技术特点,把它整合到听说训练中,应用效果可以预期。
